Accommodation Types

An accommodation type is a category you sell — Garden Bungalow, Ocean View Room, 6-bed Dorm. Rates, packages and availability are all set per type; the individual rooms belong to a type.

Settings › Hotel opens Hotel Settings. Its tabs are Accommodation Types, Rooms, Seasons, Rate Plans, Packages, Package Rules, Add-ons and Closed Periods.

The list

The Accommodation Types tab lists your types with their occupancy, number of rooms, capacity and amenities. Search by name, or filter by Occupancy (Private, Shared) and Gender (Male, Female, Mixed).

Use Move Up / Move Down to set the order. Types are listed in this order elsewhere too, for example on the Housekeeping board.

Create an accommodation type

1. Click Add New Type.

2. Basic Information: the Type Name and an optional Abbreviation (for example DLX, DORM).

3. Occupancy Configuration: choose Private Room or Shared Room (Dormitory). For a dormitory, choose the Gender (for dormitory): Mixed, Male Only or Female Only. Set the Maximum Capacity.

4. Initial Rooms Setup: in Number of Rooms to Create, enter how many rooms of this type you have (0 to 50). They are named automatically, for example Deluxe Room 1, Deluxe Room 2. Leave 0 to add rooms later.

5. Pricing Configuration: how many Adults and Children are included in the base price.

6. Description & Details and Amenities & Features: tick the Standard Amenities (WiFi, Air Conditioning, Private Bathroom…) and type any Custom Amenities, separated by commas.

7. Images & Media: choose the Main Image with Select from Gallery (see the Gallery tab in Company settings — other tabs).

8. Click Create Accommodation Type.

Booking widget

Creating a type also creates the matching room type in your booking widget. Later changes to the type update the widget, and the amenities you tick become badges there.

Edit or delete a type

Click Edit. Besides the fields above, the edit page lets you add more photos (Add Images from Gallery) and lists the Existing Rooms of the type; Manage opens the Rooms tab filtered on this type. Click Save Changes.

To delete a type, use Delete in the list or Delete Accommodation Type in the Danger Zone of the edit page. Deleting a type also deletes all its rooms, and it is refused while any of its rooms has active reservations: reassign or cancel them first.
